What Roots Finished Basements does

The company takes an unfinished basement in a new build home and finishes it: layout, permit, framing, plumbing, electrical and HVAC rough ins, inspections, insulation, drywall, paint, doors and trim, cabinets, tile, flooring and finish work, through the city final. Bedrooms with egress windows, bathrooms, family rooms, kitchenettes and second kitchens, basement apartments and in law suites, theaters and gyms are the usual scopes.

It does not repair water damage, remodel older finished basements or take on work outside new construction. That narrow scope is deliberate: the structure, the rough ins and the mechanical layout in a new build are known quantities, which is part of how the company holds its price.

How long it takes

Most projects finish in 7 to 8 weeks from permit to final walkthrough, with the schedule built backwards from a real finish date before work starts and a scheduled update every Friday. The timeline page shows it week by week and lists what causes delays.

Who is behind it

Rhodes Group LLC, owned by Noah Evans, who spent years renovating and flipping houses before launching the Roots brand. A new name, not new hands. The same company runs Roots Landscaping and Sprinklers, and homeowners commonly move from one division to the other. The company built its own software, Roots OS, to run scheduling, contracts, change orders and a customer portal.
